ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A fifth-generation Floridian, Terri Latner comes from a proud lineage of storytellers. And as a wife, mother, and grandmother, she treasures the deep roots of family and tradition that have shaped her life and inspired her writing. Some of her most cherished childhood memories are of sitting around a campfire with her grandmother and other relatives, captivated by tales passed down through the generations. These stories sparked a vivid imagination and lifelong love for storytelling. Her debut novel, When The Live Oak Cries, flowed naturally-almost as if the story was unfolding before her eyes in a world once inhabited by her great-grandparents. Now retired, she has embraced the opportunity to honor the voices of the past and bring new stories to life, carrying forward the legacy of her family's storytelling tradition.

About Our Artist Brianna Patterson, Brianna was offered the opportunity to publish her artwork in the book, When the Live Oak Cries~`Whispers of Gulf Hammock. This book will be her first published work as an artist. At a young age, Brianna discovered a passion for creativity. She is a self-taught artist with the desire to capture the beauty of the world around her through sketching, painting, and crafting. Her best work of art is shading and value. She views this practice as an interesting way to convey details, texture, color, and light exposure in a drawing. Using light opposed to dark drawings helps viewers see the full picture in its raw form, also noticing color without using color. Brianna enjoys drawing buildings and dreams of following this talent by pursuing a degree in architecture. Brianna aspires to have the ability to markup blueprints for houses in hopes that one day she can take her experience to markup city buildings. Brianna used pencil, ink, charcoal, and soft colored pastels to create these pieces of art. She believes that these drawings will enhance the imagery that the words cannot express. Brianna's art will be included throughout the pages of the book and while the story itself is fiction, the sketches depict real life buildings and maps from the era.
